The Stand Beside Her Movement culminates each year during the month of May to encourage people to commit to supporting girls and women in their lives, their home, their office and in their community.
Why May? Our nation sets aside this month to celebrate mothers and graduates, and Girl Scout councils nationwide celebrate our Girl Scout Gold Award recipients, honor our volunteers at recognition events, and watch as our current members bridge from one grade level to the next. May is the month where we all Stand Beside Her.
Although we encourage participants to celebrate and host events during the month of May, the message of the movement is the same every day - so feel free to celebrate and host your event whenever it makes the most sense for you or your organization. Our goal is to change the culture 7 days a week, 365 days a year - everywhere.
We'd love to share your events and efforts on our website! CONTACT US and let us know how you are celebrating this year!
We encourage women and girls everywhere to get involved and plan their own Stand Beside Her event!
Use our Stand Beside Her 6 Month or 6 Week Planning Guides to help get started.
However, we especially encourage girls and troops to participate during the month of May and offer a free patch promotion during specific dates each year. Visit our Stand Beside Her Patch Program page for the latest information regarding the yearly free patch promotion and all necessary details.
